ATLANTA — On November 11th, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) stated there will be a statewide recount of ballots cast in the presidential election between President Trump (R) and Fmr. Vice President Joe Biden (D).
“With the margin being so close, it will require a full, by-hand recount in each county,” Raffensperger stated at a press briefing.
“We’ll be counting every single piece of paper, every single ballot. Every single lawfully cast, legal ballot.”
Raffensperger expressed that the recount will be completed by the November 20th deadline, which is the date for certifying all statewide results. Furthermore, Raffensperger stated that there will be an audit, a recount, and a recanvass.
Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) will oversee the recount, as announced by the Trump campaign.
